Colorado Scenic Byway called the Alpine Loop
Sixty five mile scenic drive that you should not even try to take the family sedan. It most likely wouldn't make it. It takes about seven hours in a four wheel drive. It is near Ouray (have pictures around here somewhere) which is known as the "Switzerland of America". The road to Ouray can get a little narrow.
and a little "hairy" in places. Plus you have to watch out for the wild life.
Beautiful area to visit (would like to have stayed longer). Would be a great place to live but not to sure about rock slides, snow and such like.
