We've all had an interview experience. We can define the interview as an evaluation process that measures knowledge, ability and experience among candidates, conducted in a short period of time. I have had this experience four times in my life. My first experience was in Akmazlar Limited company, which I joined after graduating from high school to save my tuition money. This company was one of the largest companies in Bartın, consisting of three sectors. They were serving in the foreign exchange buying/selling, construction materials and health sector.
Akmazlar Limited Company was one of the fastest growing and most profitable companies in Bartın at that time. Getting into this company was not as easy as it seems. Hundreds of CVs were left to the company every day. I was one of those who left that CV. I graduated from Trade Vocational High School in 2000. Our lessons were mainly accounting. I saw the announcement that the company had published on its website for the accounting purchase. I immediately went to the company and filled out a CV again for that day. Then, within a week, they called me and invited me for an interview. I was so happy.
Şirkete her gün yüzlerce CV bırakılırdı.
How to dress for the interview? How to act? How to start a sentence? How to answer the questions asked? What should I pay attention to when introducing myself? Before going to the interview about these issues, I had both researched on the internet and received advice from my close friends.
If we accept that the interview for companies is to be able to select the best personnel for the suitable position, then that best personnel must be me. One of the most important details for me when going to the interview was what you should wear. Because I knew very well that; For recruiters to have a positive first impression of candidates, they had to be good at the outfit I was wearing. I changed my image with a neatly combed short hair, no beard and no mustache. I chose a white shirt with a dark suit that I bought for my sister's wedding. I chose a black tie to match my suit. I had properly ironed my clothes the day before. Here is my advice to young people; never go to an interview in jeans and a t-shirt, even for a temporary job or internship. The choice of clothing shows your interest and seriousness in the job. Since I don't have pictures of those periods, I share daily nature pictures. That's why I beg your forgiveness.
When I went to the company for an interview, they sat me in an empty room and told me to wait. At that time, I filled the blank CV prepared by the company completely. They called the incoming candidates for an interview by giving them a certain time zone. My meeting time was set to 14.30. I arrived at the company half an hour ago. After waiting for a while, they took me to the interview room. Behind a long black table, two men, one woman and two men, greeted me in formal clothes, saying Welcome and telling me to sit in the seat reserved for me.
Benim görüşme saatimi 14.30'a ayarlanmışlardı. Yarım saat öncesinde şirkete gelmiştim. Biraz bekledikten sonra beni görüşme odasına aldılar. Uzun siyah bir masa, arkasında biri kadın iki erkek resmi kıyafetle beni karşılayarak Hoş geldiniz diyerek bana ayrılan sandalyeye oturmamı söylediler.
Later I learned that these three people were Human Resources Manager, Accounting Manager and one of the Company partners. Looking at the CV in front of him, the Human Resources Manager told me to introduce myself. After giving information about myself, the accounting manager asked why do you prefer accounting as a profession? First of all, I said that the choice of profession is very important for young people like us who are new to business life. I stated that accounting is a branch of science that evaluates and analyzes the financial and financial transactions of all businesses, expressed in money, to classify, record and summarize them into reports. I remember saying that I want to have a good experience by showing the education I received in vocational high school in companies and I am ready to do my best for this. As a result of this interview, I was accepted for the job. I had started my first work experience as an accountant.
I do not want young people to lose their time in different sectors by leaving the profession they have chosen so that they never deviate from the path they have drawn. Because in most of the companies, rather than the past experience of an employee, it is looked at how many years he has been in the profession they started and whether a career plan has been formed.
Gençlerin, kendi çizdikleri yoldan asla sapmaması için, seçmiş oldukları meslek grubundan kopup, farklı sektörler de vakit kaybetmelerini istemem. Çünkü şirketlerin çoğunda, bir çalışanın geçmiş deneyimlerinden ziyade, başlamış oldukları mesleği kaç yıl sürdürdüğüne ve kariyer planının oluşup oluşmadığına bakılıyor.
I wish you all many career days throughout your working life. Stay well my friends...
Hepinize çalışma hayatı boyunca bol kariyerli günler diliyorum. Sağlıcakla kalın dostlarım...
