The cow's small economy must be completely central. When you get a cow, you will be forced to speed up your other miniaturization activities immediately. You have to get to feed the cow. To use fertilizer from cows you have to dig more land. To make use of milk products such as skimmed milk or spices, there should be other small stocks - probably pigs. Your pigs will make more fertilizer and you will feel more like farming. Besides, you have to harvest crops for pigs.
But it seems difficult to me. A cow is the largest tie in the world. You will milk her twice a day, and you will be very lucky to find someone to stand up for you.
