Sorry for the long abscence but I was in the wind for a while as we have now "officially" moved across the county (again). I am enjoying living in New York and have been slowly getting around

We are ready to crochet some steeks!
After a nice soak and fulling my project sweater is ready to have steeks crocheted into it in preparation for steeking. I am very satisfied with how soft my sweater is post soaking and fulling so I am

Looking for a green for my button band.
Digging through my yarn stash I found another yarn save from my favorite art reuse store in Berkley, CA. After pulling out my handy food dye color chart to get the green I want, I tossed in the yarn! While

I steeked my swatch!
After a couple of attempts at a crochet steek I finally got it done. Then a deep breath and snip snip! Now to learn the cast on for the button band.

More urban art!
I am in love the with the city of Kingston, NY! This small eclectic town has an awesome maker's energy/vibe running through it. On another walk around the place we spotted another building used as a canvas.

Possible sacrifice to the steeking gods?
The sweater is done and waiting for me to steek. The next question I have to ask is if I want to use blue, green or metallic bronze coloring for the button band. Why can't I decide?!

Test fulling and steeking.
Doing some test fulling on my sweater swatch. Once this is all dry I can see how it reacts to steeking! The soak in the knitting wash has already done wonders for the feel of the wool and some of the VM

Making tools.
I love 3D printing! these are parts of 3D print which will result in a new yarn swift. I can't decide if the next print will be a loom or a yarn winder. I will post photos when the print is done and assembled.

Now for some sleeves.
There is way to much veggie matter in this sweater so far. I hope I will be able to shave, pick or wash out most of it. Other than that I am loving the color variation in this wool. I am very excited to

Some more fiber blending fun!
Deciding to card some more fiber I pulled out some more wool, silk and a couple of everything-went-in-this mini batts to make another fractal batch of rolags. This adds up to about 7 onces of fiber (scarf!)

Using my new toy!
As today is local yarn store (lys) day it seemed right to get and play with fiber. This batch is a blue, grey and black blend of fiber my wife picked out so that I can knit her a hat with the resulting

Getting there...
This sweater is coming along nicely. 7 more inches and I will be done with the body of this piece. I now need to find something that I can use to get rid of some of this vegetable matter. Once this is

Got the yoke handled.
The VM in this yarn is amazing but it is working out to becoming a great outdoor sweater. I love the color variation in this wool. No idea what type of sheep this came from but I am thinking Shetland.
