So long since I published anything for the #monomad challenge, and I just find out there's a dedicated community to it! So might as well post here.
Been revisiting old photos of a special place for me, my grandparents home town. It's a small village, at the base of the highest portuguese mountain. A place surrounded by nature, where you can find fields, forests... and small rivers.
I love waterfalls, tiny or huge. And this little stream, a short walking distance from the town center, has a very small but beautiful one. I passed here countless times, on the way to a small field my grandparents cultivated. And I think I always stopped to admire it.
Thare's something about running water in the middle of nature that calms the mind. And it doesn't even need to be a waterfall... any little stream will do.
A few more minutes away from the village and another river passes by, a bigger one. Following the river margins, there's countless spots to enjoy the show, and in the summer, actually go for a swim, if you don't mind the freezing water.
But that first tiny waterfall, has the number 1 spot in my preferences list!
