Warm greetings 🌷
One of the many things that tends to overwhelm us is time. We feel like we never have enough of it; indeed, there is a sentiment shared almost universally—myself included—that time seems to be passing faster and faster. More than once, I’ve said my day ought to have 28 hours, though I’m certain that even if that were possible, I still wouldn't manage to get everything done that I want to do. Notice I said what I want to do, not what I need to do.
We must make responsible use of our time, as it is one of the most wonderful gifts God has bestowed upon us. We simply need to manage it wisely rather than foolishly. Time is so significant that, since ancient times, humanity has devised various methods to track it.
From observing the stars, the moon, and the sun—the celestial bodies—to determine days, weeks, months, and years, to the creation of incredible timekeeping instruments, we see how humans have excelled at measuring time. Just think of the evolution from ancient sundials to the modern digital watches we use today. It is truly amazing!
However, there is a valuable detail worth noting: the earliest record of time measurement appears thousands of years ago in the Bible, in the Book of Genesis: "And there was evening, and there was morning." Genesis 1:5. That is how the week originated—as a work of God. Ultimately, humans invented clocks in all their various forms, as well as calendars, to measure time and better organize their activities.

How do we measure time?
Given what has been said so far, I would like to point out that some people measure their time in years, wrinkles, ailments, and gray hair. You surely relate to this. On the other hand, there are those who measure time in terms of productivity, finances, professional achievements, and goals set and reached—in short, in triumphs. You surely relate to this as well.
Undoubtedly, all such achievements bring satisfaction and reward, translating into gains earned by making the most of one’s time. This is valid and praiseworthy. Indeed, we ought to spend every second of our lives responsibly and wisely. This means journeying through life hand in hand with God, thereby experiencing true quality and quantity in the time we make the most of.

If there is any difference between us regarding time, it lies in the years of life God grants to each of us. Consequently, everyone’s allotted time differs, as does the way we use it. We must carefully consider how to make wise use of our time. In recent months, I have read how people speak of the approaching "end times" in light of recent natural tragedies in Venezuela, Colombia, Indonesia, and Nepal—to name just a few that have had a major global impact.
This led me to reflect on the many Christian messages I have heard and read suggesting that a good way to spend time is by reading inspiring books—such as the Bible or other works that convey Christian spiritual teachings. This translates into spending moments in the Lord's company, which in turn brings peace. Another way to use time well is through selfless service to others; we can talk to an elderly person—especially one who lives alone—or smile at a child, and—believe it or not—their innocence will rub off on you.
Without a doubt, working with enthusiasm and dedication—regardless of the task at hand—is a wonderful way to make the most of our time. I also recommend petting a puppy, enjoying the food we have, and embracing those special people who are our loved ones.
These are just a few ideas, but there are many ways to ensure our time is quality time. Let us remember that striving for professional advancement and financial gain is not bad; the harm arises when we focus only on those things. As I mentioned earlier, time is a gift from God for our benefit; it must be managed with balance, ensuring we set aside adequate space in our daily schedules for the One who created it.
Let’s give it a try and measure how we spend our time!

A hug 🌷
