What is international student accommodation in China? Here are the options available, and do not miss tips on how to find the right accommodation for you in China.
If you do not want to bother looking for your own accommodation outside, you can contact the university. Usually universities offer accommodation options for international students. You can ask the international office about this information.
Accommodation within the university
Staying in a dorm is the most practical and economical choice. Many universities provide specialized international student dormitories, where you can get to know and mingle with students from different parts of the world.
In general, there is a choice between single rooms or rooms occupied by two or more people. They also offer a choice with an in-room bathroom, or a shared bathroom for each floor.
Most dormitories do not provide kitchen facilities, but have large cafeterias where students can buy food.
Boarding rates vary between universities, ranging from ¥ 800 per academic year. Depending on the university, the cost of renting sometimes includes the cost of electricity, water and others. Confirm this with the university where you are accepted.
Apartment
Prices of apartments vary greatly in China. The location is very decisive apartment prices. In general, the price of rental apartments in the center of Beijing City is about 7185 yen per month. In smaller cities like Shenyang, apartments with similar facilities to apartments in Beijing can be only about ¥ 1525 per month. Before signing a lease contract, discuss with the university. The apartments can be more comfortable than dorms, but thus can not enjoy the most active social life while living in campus dormitories.
