Can you believe that this is an egg purse of a Dark shyshark (Haploblepharus pictus)?

Oh yes, I had never heard of Mermaid's purses before, but we learn every day. So imagine my delight when we found out what it was.

My wife collects stuff on the beaches and we thought that these soft wonders from the ocean were something special. So I will show you her collection in here of shark, skates and rays egg purses.
Amazing what our strolls on the beaches sometimes can deliver and the ocean is full of amazing wonders.
Come and see.

Here below is her collection thus far and each one is of a different specie.

We were delighted to discover what they they are and I found an excellent site that describes the new and popular challenge for beachcombers to collect Mermaid's purses.
Have a look at this;

And if you want to see how Argonaut octopuses are born from the Nautilus shell have a look at this site;

I hope that you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.
