We saw a dead little squirrel in the road to our house so I stopped to take it out of the road. my wife was in tears, as she thought it was the squirrel that visited our house.
But look who popped up later to eat a granadilla that we leave in the front garden for the squirrels.
Smiles and happiness all round and you can see the suckled tits on her body, which means that she has babies to feed.
I never knew that granadillas had so many health benefits until we Googled them and it was a great surprise. So, we have many here and my wife processes them in the kitchen. She has buckets full of pulp and bottles filled with juice and now I have gotten used to drinking ice cold granadilla juice on the very hot days. She has also made some granadilla jam and fruit rolls. Soon we will have granadilla and cream fridge tart and granadilla cakes. She is also sure to come up with granadilla muffins and biscuits. So the squirrel is happy and we are happy.
Here below, you can see the granadillas that we leave out in the sun for the squirrel. She waits until they turn yellow in the sun before she eats them. Pardon the two Cape Dwarf Geckos on the wall.
Oh yes, she knows where I am behind the window with the camera, so she popped in behind the trellis to eat her granadilla.
One final photo and then I left her in peace.
We have two fences of granadilla bushes at the front of our house and my wife collects the dropped granadillas every day. I will ask her to share one of her granadilla recipes on hive soon.
Now for some other interesting stuff.
Any takers that can tell me what the name of this succulent plant with the pink flowers is? 
There was two of them and we would love to get some for our small front garden.
And finally, I have these interesting tree nuts to show you.
The thick outer casing of the nut cracks open to reveal a beautiful flower seed.
Look how thick that nut shell is.
We collected a variety of the nut seeds below the tree.
Here is the dark green nut tree in the middle of the photo.
And to end the photos, just a lovely view of a palm tree in the wind with a mountain backdrop.
A bit of an unusual post, as I decided to share something different with all of you, but the core of the beauty of nature is also evident in here.
There are always many wonders to be found and I have the habit of looking out for the unusual beauties.
Regarding the squirrel, for those of you that do not know, at our old house that we moved from 7 months ago, we had a big family of squirrels there and they lived in our garden. The old garden was much bigger than the small garden that we have at this new home. Now we hope that the mom squirrel that is feeding here now, will soon bring her babies to also come and eat here.
We laid some peanuts out for her, but for some reason she didn't touch them, as she prefers the granadillas. Maybe she will take to the peanuts when winter arrives, as then there will be no granadillas.
We can only try. We have collected some pine cones for her and will start collecting acorns soon.
