Trees like I have never seen before, and now due to the power cuts, I have not had a chance to ask aunty Google yet what they are. Maybe you know?
We were on a Sunday road trip and I have the habit to turn off into any roads that we have not traveled before.
So as we neared the end of this road under the mountain, we saw that there was some sort of Sunday market in the garden of a wine farm. A great reason to stop for some coffee and of course to explore. Sadly some areas were marked as "Private", and I would so have loved to walk through there with my camera.
We will have another power cut at 8pm, so I will be back at 10:40pm to see if anyone knows the trees.
Come and have a look at what I found.
Here below is a view of the road that we traveled on and it has many turn offs to farms and other towns.
So lets have a look at the trees, there were many of them and I have a few of them in here.
As you can see here below, the roots grow down to reach the ground as feeders for the mighty branches of this tree.
I can tell you that due to the sizes of the trees, that they are very old.
Finally, you can see that they held the market in the shade of these giants.
Always amazing what one can discover on our regular road trips in the countryside. We normally take these drives out on Sundays and we have never been disappointed, as there is always something new waiting for us to find.
So it is with expectation of the unknown, that we depart and as usual we return astonished and happy for seeing the beauty that surrounds us.
There was a date mark on the one of the buildings of this farm, stating that it was founded in 1682 and I will show you some of the buildings in another post, otherwise this post would have become too long.
