Who do you think will jump first to get a nut?
I promised to try and show you all of the wild squirrels at our house, but true to the nature of some siblings they don't like each other, so they refuse to gather for a team shot lol!
We have become known as the Squirrel house and I must say that I quite like the name. In fact I will make a plaque with "Squirrel Cottage" on it to stick up next to our house number.
"Squirry taught her one daughter to also jump up on Marian's hand now, but although the others come closer, they don't jump yet!
Come and have a look!
The left one jumped first, but didn't sit, as just grabbed a nut and was on it's way, too fast for me. Here's the second one on Marian's hand!
These two are not jumping up yet!
Did I say two, sorry I meant three!
This little one was trying to hide a nut in a crack of the tree stump (number 4)!
You can see that this little guy fancies my car (number 5)!
And finally this is the shy guy that lives in the palm tree top just hanging out and watching the party below (number 6)!
I am not sure if it's six, or seven squirrels, all from the same family, that live around here. I know that there are two guys, because I can see their "Togos" when they sit to eat a nut, but with the girls I don't know, as they all wear hairy skirts and even if they didn't, how would I tell them apart?
They all look like one squirrel to me and maybe we should brand them with a hot iron like the cattle farmers brand their cattle🤣
Anyway, it rained most of the day and when the late sun popped out, the squirrels and all of the other animals also popped out, hungry as always. Full stomachs means that they can bear the wet and the cold, so we do our best to get their little stomachs full.
I think that I will show you some Spring baby birds tomorrow!
