At Last! An impossible shot and I have waited a long time over the months to get this picture above.
The red-collared Sunbird males only sit for seconds when they patrol and guard their nestbuilding wives.
It is a nightmare to get a clear shot of them when they are on the move, as they are very quick and can take off in any direction,
But today was my day!
At first he raised a typical alarm song here below!
His wife had arrived with some furniture for their nest!
But there were two Cape White Eye lovers in the tree!
And the guy was busy massaging his cute little wife!
Ooops! He was going a bit below the belt 馃ぃ
Bedlam! The sunbird scattered the two lovers!
If you look carefully at the picture above, you will see the sunbird above the white eye in the apple tree!
Finally, there was a spectator, a Cape Robin Chat sitting in a bush and watching the action.
And That's All Friends!
Early summer seems to have arrived this week, as the rain is gone and things are rapidly heating up. Soon we will in the 30 Celsius bracket and then the real African heat will arrive.
By Autumn the new babies will all be strong enough to face the winter that starts in June next year.
Mother nature has a wonderful way of taking care of her residents!
All photos are my own, fresh and taken today. Camera used was a Canon Powershot SZ60HS
