Look how this baby Mousebird was crying to his mommy for some food. He is not wearing his red Covid mask and I should have phoned the cops.
The Palm tree is alive and at last the fruits are ripe. A variety of wild customers started to arrive in the tree.
Exactly what I have been waiting for and here you will see some of the birds in the tree. There is also a bird with no wings in the last picture of the post.

His mom, a Red-faced Mousebird (Urocolius indicus) was busy loading up her crop to go and feed the brat.
Now what's this bird with 4 eyes?
Nope, it's a husband and wife Cape White Eye team at lunch.
Here the Cape White-eye (Zosterops virens) was picking off the last of the fruit that he ate.
Oh great, even the wife of a Southern Double-collared Sunbird (Cinnyris chalybeus) had a go at the fruit and I thought that they only eat insects.
But of course her husband was not far away and he also had a go at the fruit.
Remember in the intro that I said I will show you a bird with no wings in the last picture?
Well the young squirrel is not exactly a bird, but he can climb right up the staggering height of the palm tree to feast with everyone else. So maybe he thinks that he is also a bird?
I just hope that the young squirrel will watch the birds flying out of the tree and he would not also try to fly out . He will certainly encounter a force called gravity and kiss mother earth at high speed :)
And so, the birds have arrived and now to start at night to watch out for the giant fruit bats. I just hope that the birds will leave enough fruit for the bats.
