As the sun was going down, the moon climbed the mountain to escape into the sky!
But let me start from the beginning to show you this beautiful and rare occurrence.
We arrived an hour earlier, as I wanted to take some insect shots in the park and luck was with me as a I got a new dragonfly near the river which I will show you sometime!
Come and watch the moonrise!
The sun was busy greeting for the day and I was keeping an eye on the mountains!
Voila! The moon peeped at me to see if it was safe to come out!
Then, ever so slowly it started to emerge and I could hear some classical Debussy number playing in my mind!
A bit of a wider view here and the mountains were still blushing from the sun's heat!
Here it seemed that the mountain was trying to hold onto the moon!
At Last! Freedom to embark on it's centuries old journey!
Gradually climbing ever higher and higher!
A final good night shot that I took back at home!
I cannot help but feel all kinds of emotions welling up on these occasions. Man alone with the might of the universe on display. Wonderment assails my mind filled with beautiful and peaceful thoughts about the processes of life compared to the universe. We are all strangers on a journey here on planet earth and so many millions have already completed their own journeys.
Yes, in solid stillness the moon has seen them all and it will continue to see many others long after you and me have completed our own journeys.
Our moon, a silent witness!
