We had to get eye tests and photos today in order to renew our expired driving licences later this month!
Our licences expired in June amid the covid lockdown when everything was closed and we have received an extension to renew within 90 days. At the moment the queues are too long due to the backlog and we will go more towards the end of the extension period.
But come and look at the photos that I took during the drive!
The squirrel above said; "Hey, I know you guys are going out, just a pretty, pretty please for some nuts before you go."!
"Hey" he said, "I will break this window down if you don't leave me nuts before you go"
At a traffic light we saw this pair of "European Starlings"
Did I say a pair? Here's a gang of them on the high overhead wires next to the road!
The one at the bottom must be the mayor of the Starlings!
Had to click this one above quickly as the traffic lights were changing to "Go"!
One his way to the landing strip at our local airfield!
I liked how the sun played on the screen of this chopper!

I also wanted to show you the craziness of last night!
Late, but the setting sun was not finished playing with the clouds!
Finally I got the moon and it was also brighter than usual.
Makes me think that the full moon is going to be something special with all of the light!

An expensive business this renewal system of driving licences that we have here.
First we have to pay for a heap of photos. Not any photos, as they have to be according to accepted standards in monochrome.
Then we have to pay for they eye tests. A thing where they put up letters on a screen for us to read with each eye.
Then we have to pay seperately for the certificates.
At the driving licence issuing offices, we have to pay for a temporary drivers licence, while they process our application forms and when it is done, they contact us to go and collect the official licences and of course we have to pay again.
My result for the eye test was good, 80% in the right eye and 90% in the left eye.
But Marian's result is a cause for concern, as she got 90% for her right eye and only 30% for her left eye.
So we booked an intensive eye examination for her.
