They tell me that this is a Fiery-skipper butterfly, but I have never seen a butterfly catching what looks like a midget!
I saw this small butterfly flitting around and decided to keep an eye on it, as normally these little beauties find a place to sit for a while.
Now, I invite you to come and have a look at my encounter with this little fellow!
Oh yes, he found a place to sit in the grass and I carefully approached to get some "Macro" photos!
Of course I got the totally unexpected that I have never seen before!
In fact, I have never seen this butterfly before!
It is said that the Fiery-skipper ((Hylephila phyleus) Butterfly only appears in South America, but here is one in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.

Winding up his catch back into his mouth here!
We have trimmed the palm tree's hanging skirt at the top and now there is much more light at the area where the Skipper was sitting!
He was getting ready to let rip with another catch here below.
But I decided to prod him gently and slowly with my finger.
Not so easy to simultaneously take macro photos with the camera in my other hand!
I thought that he was preparing to step down here, so I offered him my finger again!
By Jove! Look! As he freely stepped onto my finger!
Didn't like it very much though, as he pulled a face saying "Wow, this stinks like a human" before flying off to a destination unknown!
I think that he thinks that anything in nature smells better than a human and at times I have to agree with him 🤣
At my time in the army, I can remember guys jumping into and out of the shower like it was a hot fire. Lazy buggers that wet their heads and thought that they had a shower.
Next day after a route march, they would take their boots off and our ears would wiggle like an African elephant's at the smells.
But of course, freedom means everything in life and I hope that this little Skipper butterfly will complete his life in total freedom!
And That's All Friends!
Something here below to think about!
