Peptic ulcer disease commonly called ulcer is a painful sore in the stomach lining. Stomach ulcer occurs when their is reduction in the mucus of the stomach that aid digestion and therefore cause the stomach acid to eat up the tissue lining of the stomach. It can easily be cure but can be very severe if left untreated.
Ulcer is caused by a bacteria known as Helicobacter pylori or too much use of nonsteroidal anti- inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin.
Symptoms of ulcer can include some of the following
1) Burning sensation in the stomach area
2) weight loss
3) Bloating
4) Vomit that has blood or coffee like colour
5) Feeling tire for no reason
6) pale colour
7) trouble breathing
8) dizziness
The severity of the ulcer will determine the type of symptoms.
You visit your doctor to get treated and it takes 1-2 weeks of treatment to get better. Your doctor might prescribe some antibacterial drug to cure the bacteria disease or any other drug meant for the cure.
Ulcer can be prevented by the following ways
1) Wash your hands properly after the use in bathroom and before preparing and eating food.
2) Avoid eating and drinking of unhealthy food and water
3) Avoid eating food that is not cooked properly.
