There is something so very powerful about someone who can recognize when they are going to be "bad company" and take steps to get out of that funk. The ultimate gift any person could give to themselves is learning to be brutally, honestly, unflinchingly, self-aware. The truer you see yourself through clear lenses the better you can combat the negative aspects of your personality.
But self-awareness comes with some very ugly truths and it is hard sometimes to accept those truths, deal with them, and move on. We all have vicious demons living inside our souls, the key is to tame them suckers and unleash them only when necessary.
I've had severe reoccurring nightmares/night terrors since I was a child and no matter how squared away or in control of life I feel, those insidious vapors will sneak into my slumber to remind me I'm flawed. What is so striking to me is how they have adapted to still strike fear as I've grown and matured. As a child it was always about tormenting me, as I grew they slowly evolved into visions of those I love being tormented due to some failure or action on my part. Man the mind is a seriously, seriously malicious enemy when it wants to be!
But then again.....BUTTER! We always have butter and butter is the smooth salve that heals all wounds of the heart, mind, and soul! Here is a pic of the caviar butter I made for Christmas eve!
