Β Hello to all the fabulous and resourceful people of #DIYHub. Today I bring you a video and step-by-step how to make from scratch a Bullet Journal and I want to explain before I continue that my post consists of two parts. One is the Video where I show how to make a binding manually and the detailed explanation to get to that step of the video with images and a detailed description of each step. So the video is the LAST STEP.
Β Having said that, I imagine you are wondering: what is a Bullet Journal? You could say that it is something more than a simple agenda, or failing that, a very personalized agenda, in which you decide how to organize it and what it will contain.
Β It is mostly used to organize and schedule more easily the activities, hobbies, or habits that you decide to implement or practice this year 2024. This way you can see your progress as the days, months or years go by.
Β I was unaware of this method and it is now this year that I want to implement it since I usually used to use more agendas but always left several pages blank I love this method because I can adjust it to my tastes and desires.
Β The Bullet Journal or BoJu, was released in 2013 and the author of this idea is a guy named Ryder Caroll who was looking to "overcome his learning disabilities". So he decided to design this little personalized diary with the purpose of "examine your past, order your present and design your future".

1.- Fifty white sheets (Office, Letter, whatever size you like. I used Extra Office because that's what I had). Ruler. 2-hole punch. Scissors. Pencil. Construction paper (Color of your choice).
2.- Plastic covers in the color of your choice along with the spiral also known as Binder's Comb.
3.- Guillotine or Scissors..
4.- Opens holes with 3 or 2 holes.

1.- Make a small fold in the middle of the sheet, either mark a little on the paper and then mark it with a pencil so you can guide you better and cut it with the scissors, or simply fold the sheet in half so you know where you are going to cut the middle with the guillotine.
2.- Once the sheet is folded, I proceeded to trim the sheet with the guillotine but if you want to do it more accurately follow step 3 and use scissors. Remember that you should do this 50 times if you use scissors or save yourself some work by cutting sheets in groups of 5 or 6 papers.
3.- With a ruler you measure the center of the sheet make a mark and then draw a line through the middle to cut out all the sheets exactly.
4.- I used a guillotine and looked at what number marked the guidelines to cut the other sheets into groups of 6 sheets. This way I saved myself some work and a bit of time.
5.- Verify that each cut sheet has the same size in all of them. NOTE: I made a mistake with 5 sheets and cut them to the wrong size, but I used them later to square the holes that would be used for the binding.
6.- Once all the sheets have been cut to the desired size, proceed to do the same with the plastic covers for the Bullet Journal.
7.- For this step you can take the same measurements of the leaves or leave a few millimeters so that it doesn't stick out and cover the edges a little bit. I used a ruler and measured to my liking and to the eye percent where I wanted to cut it. And I marked a guide point with a marker.
8.- I did the same with the second cover, taking into account the height and width of the previous cover.
9.- In this step I am squaring the lid according to the top and bottom sides of each one. You should be aware of this if you use a corrugated or embossed type. In this case, I used a smooth one that can be used on both sides regardless of which one I choose.
10.- Now we take the construction paper in the color of your choice. I used a purple one because it is my favorite color. This is to glue it on the first sheet of the Bullet Journal and make its cover but the other option is to use two cards of the same color and place one at the front and one at the end to make a harder cover of the sheets and take the measurements of one of the sheets you cut previously.
11.- Here I compare if they have the same height and as they do not have the same width I decided to trim them by one centimeter.
12.- I compared the size again and it was to my liking. I reserve both cards.
13.- I used the three-hole hole opener but you can use the two-hole hole opener. For this step, it is necessary to practice and square the position of the holes according to the Binder's Comb or Spiral you are going to use.
14.- The three-hole opener was more practical for me as I could adjust the holes to the height I needed. The Binder's Comb or spiral usually comes with a standard size, so it would be easy to use a two-hole opener as well.
15.- Once the holes are open and tested with the Binder's Comb so that they fit properly in each tooth, I take that leaf and use it as a guide to open the holes now to 100 previously chopped leaves.
16.- In order not to force or make it difficult to tighten the hole opener, I assemble groups of 6 leaves and fix them with clips so that they do not roll or move when using the hole opener.
17.- I placed the guide sheet I made with 15 holes over the group of 6 leaves to make guide points and to know where I am going to open the holes for each one of them.
18.- With a marker and pressing a little with my hand so that the leaves do not move, I mark a point in the center of each hole. I did this by eye by eye.
19.- I check that each stitch is in place and proceed to step 20.
20.- For this step I removed the bottom part of the hole openers (the protector to prevent the excess of the leaves from coming out).
21.- Without the hole-opener cover, I could easily see where each point was located and fit it into the hole of the instrument in a simpler way. To do this, I had to make sure that each point was relatively in the middle of the holes.
22.- I used only two holes in the hole opener, just rolling the sheet as I opened the holes. There you can see how each one looked.
23.- I do steps 17 and 18 with the plastic covers that I will use as covers with the guide sheet.
24.- Already here I group all my cut-out sheets with the covers to finally assemble the Bullet Journal.
25.- This step is the binding. It can be said to be the final step and is explained in the 3Speak video at the beginning.
26.- This is me modeling for you and see how my Boullet Journal finally turned out.
Β Before I finish I want to say that I worked for 5 years in a stationery store where they made bindings, made copies, wrapped gifts, or lined notebooks. I learned to do many things and binding was one of them.
Β The Binder's Comb that I used to bind my custom agenda, is mostly used for rectangular holes. I don't have a binder or hole opener that opens the holes in a rectangular shape, so I used a normal hole opener. With this, I show you that you can also make a binding without having to go to a bookstore.
Β But if you have a hard time doing it, you can take the sheets, cardboard, and covers to the bookstore of your choice and choose how you want the binding. The other option they recommend to use as Bullet Journal are mini agendas with dotted or knitted sheets, that is, those sheets that are used to practice Lettering and Calligraphy.

Β Hola a toda la gente fabulosa e ingeniosa de #DIYHub. Hoy les traigo un video y el paso a paso para hacer de cero una Bullet Journal y quiero explicar antes de continuar que mi post consta de dos partes. Una es el Video donde muestro cΓ³mo hacer un encuadernado manualmente y la explicaciΓ³n detallada para llegar a ese paso del video con imΓ‘genes y descripciΓ³n detallada de cada paso. AsΓ que el video es el ΓLTIMO PASO.
Β Dicho esto, imagino que se preguntarΓ‘n: ΒΏquΓ© es eso una Bullet Journal? Se podrΓa decir que es algo mΓ‘s que una simple agenda, o en su defecto una agenda bastante personalizada, en la que tΓΊ mismo decides cΓ³mo organizarla y lo que va a contener.
Β Se usa mΓ‘s que todo para organizar y programar con mΓ‘s sencillez las actividades, hobbies o hΓ‘bitos que decidas implementar o practicar este aΓ±o 2024. De esta forma puedes ir viendo tu progreso a medida que pasen los dΓas, meses o aΓ±os.
Β Yo desconocΓa totalmente de este mΓ©todo y es ahora en este aΓ±o que quise implementarlo ya que generalmente solΓa usar mΓ‘s agendas, pero siempre dejaba varias pΓ‘ginas en blanco por lo que este mΓ©todo me encanta debido a que puedo ajustarlo a mis gustos y deseos.
Β El Bullet Journal o BoJu, fue dado a conocer en el aΓ±o 2013 y el autor de esta idea es un chico llamado Ryder Caroll quien buscaba "superar sus problemas de aprendizaje". Por lo cual decidiΓ³ diseΓ±ar esta pequeΓ±a agenda personalizada con la finalidad de "examinar tu pasado, ordenar tu presente y diseΓ±a tu futuro".

1.- Cincuenta Hojas blancas (Tipo Oficio, Carta, del tamaΓ±o que quieras. Yo usΓ© Extra Oficio porque era las que tenΓa). Regla. Abre huecos de 2 orificios. Tijera. LΓ‘piz. Cartulina de ConstrucciΓ³n (Color de tu preferencia).
2.- Cubiertas o Portadas de plΓ‘stico del color de tu preferencia junto con la espiral o tambiΓ©n conocido como Canutillo.
3.- Guillotina o en su defecto una Tijera.
4.- Abre Huecos de 3 orificios o en su defecto de 2.

1.- Hacer un pequeΓ±o doblez a la hoja en todo el medio, ya sea para marcar un poco en el papel y luego remarcarlo con lΓ‘piz para que te guΓes mejor y lo cortes con la tijera o simplemente doblas la hoja a la mitad para que sepas dΓ³nde vas a picar el medio con la guillotina.
2.- Una vez doblada la hoja, procedΓ a recortar la hoja con la guillotina, pero si quieres hacerlo mΓ‘s exacto sigue el paso 3 y usa una tijera. Recuerda que esto debes hacerlo 50 veces si usas tijera o ahorrarte trabajo picando hojas en grupo de 5 o 6 papeles.
3.- Con una regla mides el centro de la hoja y haces una marca para luego trazar una lΓnea en todo el medio y asΓ recortar todas las hojas de manera exacta.
4.- Yo usΓ© una guillotina y me fijΓ© en quΓ© nΓΊmero marcaba las lΓneas de guΓa para recortar las demΓ‘s hojas en grupos de 6 hojas. De esta manera me ahorrΓ© trabajo y un poco de tiempo.
5.- Verificamos que cada hoja recortada tenga el mismo tamaΓ±o en todas. NOTA: Yo me equivoquΓ© con 5 hojas y las piquΓ© en la medida que no era, sin embargo esas las usΓ© mΓ‘s adelante para cuadrar los orificios que me servirΓan para el encuadernado.
6.- Una vez recortadas todas las hojas en el tamaΓ±o deseado, se procede a hacer lo mismo con las tapas o portadas de plΓ‘stico para el Bullet Journal.
7.- Para este paso puedes tomar las mismas medidas de las hojas o dejar unos milΓmetros para que no quede al ras, sino que sobresalga y cubra un poquito los bordes. Yo usΓ© una regla y medΓ a mi gusto y al ojo porciento dΓ³nde querΓa picarla. Y marquΓ© un punto guΓa con un marcador.
8.- Hice lo mismo con la segunda tapa, tomando en cuenta el alto y el ancho de la portada anterior.
9.- En este paso estoy cuadrando la tapa de acuerdo al lado superior e inferior que tiene cada una. Debes estar atento de ello si usas alguna de tipo corrugado o con relieve. Yo en este caso usΓ© una lisa que puede ser usada por ambos lados indiferentemente del que escoja.
10.- Ahora tomamos la cartulina de construcciΓ³n del color de tu preferencia. Yo usΓ© una morada porque es mi color favorito. Esto es para pegarlo en la primera hoja del Bullet Journal y hacerle su portada, pero la otra opciΓ³n es que uses dos cartulinas del mismo color y coloques una al frente y otra al final para hacer una tapa mΓ‘s durita de las hojas y tomarΓas las medidas de una de las hojas que picaste anteriormente.
11.- AquΓ comparo si tienen el mismo alto y como no tienen el mismo ancho decidΓ recortarlas un centΓmetro.
12.- Vuelvo a comparar el tamaΓ±o y quedΓ³ a mi gusto. Reservo ambas cartulinas.
13.- Yo usΓ© el abre huecos de tres orificios pero puedes usar el de dos. Para este paso es necesario ir practicando y cuadrando la posiciΓ³n de los orificios, de acuerdo al Canutillo o Espiral que vayas a usar.
14.- El abre huecos de tres me resultΓ³ mΓ‘s prΓ‘ctico ya que podΓa ajustar los orificios a la altura que necesitaba. El canutillo o espiral suele venir con una medida estΓ‘ndar, por lo que serΓa sencillo usar un abre huecos de dos orificios tambiΓ©n.
15.- Una vez abiertos los orificios y probando con el canutillo de que encajan adecuadamente en cada diente, tomo esa hoja y la uso de guΓa para abrir los orificios ahora a 100 hojitas anteriormente picadas.
16.- Para no forzar, ni que se haga difΓcil apretar el abre huecos, voy armando grupos de 6 hojitas y las fijo con clips para que no se me rueden o muevan al momento de usar el abre huecos.
17.- Coloco la hoja guΓa que hice con 15 orificios sobre el grupo de 6 hojitas para hacer puntos guΓas y saber dΓ³nde voy a abrirle los huecos a cada una de ellas.
18.- Con un marcador y presionando un poco con mi mano para que no se me muevan las hojas, voy marcando un punto en el centro de cada orificio. Esto lo hice al ojo por ciento.
19.- Reviso que cada punto estΓ‘ en su lugar y procedo a realizar el paso 20.
20.- Para este paso le quitΓ© la parte de abajo que traen los abre huecos (ese protector para evitar que se salga el sobrante de las hojas).
21.- Sin la tapa del abre huecos puedo observar con facilidad dΓ³nde estaba cada punto y cuadrarlo en el orificio del instrumento de manera mΓ‘s sencilla. Para ello estaba pendiente de que cada punto quedara relativamente en el medio de dichos orificios.
22.- Yo usΓ© sΓ³lo dos huecos del abre huecos, sΓ³lo iba rodando la hoja a medida que iba abriendo los orificios. AllΓ pueden notar cΓ³mo se iba viendo cada uno.
23.- Hago el paso 17 y 18 con las tapas o carΓ‘tulas plΓ‘sticas que usarΓ© como portadas con la hoja guΓa.
24.- Ya aquΓ agrupo todas mis hojas recortadas junto con las tapas para armar finalmente el Bullet Journal.
25.- Este paso es el encuadernado. Se puede decir que es el paso final y estΓ‘ explicado en el video de 3Speak que sale al inicio.
26.- Esta soy yo modelando para ustedes y vean cΓ³mo quedΓ³ mi Bullet Journal finalmente.
Β Antes de culminar quiero decir que yo trabajΓ© por 5 aΓ±os en una papelerΓa donde hacΓan encuadernaciones, sacaban copias, se envolvΓan regalos o forraban cuadernos. AprendΓ a hacer muchas cosas y encuadernar fue una de ellas.
Β El Canutillo que usΓ© para encuadernar mi agenda personalizada, es utilizado mΓ‘s que todo para orificios regtangulares. Yo no tengo una encuadernadora o abre huecos que abra los orificios en forma regtangular, por eso usΓ© un abre huecos normal. Con esto les demuestro que se puede hacer tambiΓ©n una encuadernaciΓ³n sin necesidad de ir a una librerΓa.
Β Pero si se te complica mucho hacerlo, puedes llevar las hojas, cartulinas y tapas a la librerΓa de tu preferencia y elegir cΓ³mo quieres el encuadernado. La otra opciΓ³n que recomiendan usar como Bullet Journal son mini agendas con hojas punteadas o hojas de punto, es decir, esas hojas que se usan para practicar el Lettering y CaligrafΓa.
