Hello everyone! Today I am going to share my July monthly bullet journal layout. I made a calendar for the month and thought of sharing it. It is not recent but at the time I decorated it, I took many pictures with the intention of making this post. Since it is still July, I might as well make my post. So I actually changed to a different journal this month and I am still getting used to this new journal because I get anxious that I might make a mess in my new journal.
I usually use a grid journal but this is a dotted journal. Every page is full of dots that we can use as a guide to write without measuring anything while looking less intrusive like grids do. Firstly, I made a little outline for the calendar layout i need and made some darker dots in a pen so I can avoid making mistakes while making the lines. This is the first proper calendar layout I was making so I needed some time to figure out how big I want the boxes and spaces to be. I just used one of my cheap gel pens I got online.
These are the boxes I drew using a ruler. I have drawn without a ruler before but I didn't like how messy it looked. I felt so reluctant and rather annoyed to keep using the calendar layout at the time and I didn't even fill half of them. So this time I made some effort to make it neat looking.
I went to IKEA recently to shop for some home-related items and while I was going around, I found this wonderful set of highlighters, They were reasonably priced. I managed to resist the urge to buy them at first but when I came across them for the second time on a different spot, I quickly picked a set of them. I tried them all and the colours were so vibrant.
I wanted to do a theme of fruits as I got into a loop of watching videos related to harvesting the garden because I have been planning to set a garden of fruits and vegetables. I thought that this group of markers would add a nice pop of colour. I picked these shades as they suit the theme and also have a warm fall vibe.
These are the washi tapes that I chose for this layout. I got some lemons, grapes, tomatoes, watermelons and many more fruits. I usually just cut up the images individually and use them as stickers. I actually picked another set of washi tape later but at the time I took this picture, I only had these two in mind.
I started making some green lines with the green highligher. I was very happy with how vibrant it appeared. Usually my highlighters don't appear so vivid on this book because of the off white pages. But this set works well for these papers. I was so excited that I accidentally overlined the last box. I got so carried away that I made a mistake. But then I also got a great idea that I can just cover it up quite easily using a strip of washi tape later.
This is after I figured the rest of the layout. I just added the other colours. The contrasting colours bring each other out. Then I put up a label for the month and I also wrote the titles and dates.
Here's my messy little table with all my washi tapes and other journaling tools and materials. I try to put everything on the table regardless of whether I use them or not. I don't like getting up looking for something once I start journaling.
This is after my favourite part which is decorating the entire calendar with stickers. I used another washi tape set in addition so I can paste some leaves in different colours. I have also covered up the overlined highlighter mistake. At least it doesn't look obvious anymore except for the greenish tint.
I filled everything in. At the time I'm completing this post, I have actually already made those payments. This is before marking them as done. I included some fun little information like what book I'm reading currently, what series I'm watching and the playlist that I'm trying so hard to complete for my channel. I also wrote my quote for the month. Finally I marked the new moon and full moon dates with the signs they will be in, using grey and yellow colours respectively. It's just a fun thing I'm doing as I like checking the phases of the moon on an app I keep which shows the live position of the moon at any moment I open it.
This is the final outcome with all the details filled up. It's almost the same pictures as earlier but with some aesthetically position highlighters I used for this layout.
Thank you for dropping by and I wish you a great day ahead.
