Life as been given so many names, according to one's life philosophy. Some say life is a journey, to some life is a war, to some life is a mystery, to some life is an assignment, to some life is an accident of nature and others life is just life.

All these philosophies provoke a certain response from the holder of that philosophy. Behaviors and actions are shaped by the held philosophy.

In the bible also we find the author of the book of Hebrew's, using the race games that where held in their time, to teach us the important truth about our faith in God.

In the last verses of chapter 10, he tells us about the importance of faith and its reward.

In chapter 11, first verses he tells us what faith is, the in verse 6, he reminds us the purpose of faith.

But from there on wards he gives us the examples of those who lived by faith. The rewards the received, the persecution they suffered, and the answers they never received yet they kept on believing.

Chapter 12:1-4
He tells us, we are faced with the same responsibility. There's a race before us that we must run, the race is set before us by God, himself.

Here are the things we must know to run successful.

1. Those who went before us are cheering us up. They say if we did it you can do it. Read our testimony and see.
2. We should have sole focus on the race, we need to throw away everything that slows us down, and get rid with everything that distract us, from the race.
3. We need endurance to race. Patient is always part of a Christian life. Even in normal daily life you accomplish nothing without endurance.
4. Christ is the author of our race of faith and grace. He is also the perfect example of how to race. We learn from him to run and persevere great hostility.

He is teaching us, to overlook our persecution and focus on the great rewards await for us. It is through endurance we achieve the rewards.

Brethren the race is on and is real. But the opposition is real and fierce, we should not be ignorant of this. Nevertheless the victory will always be ours if we focus to Christ, the author of the race, the model of racing and endurance.
