Teaching is a profession that even AI is not yet perfect at. Many feel that AI is much more intelligent and will definitely be the best teacher. But who doesn’t know that a machine will always look like a machine?
The examples that humans give are much more relatable. They are free to go down to the level that kids will remember, and trigger or ignite their remembrance memory.
More so, teaching is forever. It spans reproduction, development, growth, and maturity. Have you ever wondered how AI would teach a toddler? It has to be a human, and there has to be a learning environment.
Will my job exist in the next ten years? Teaching is not a job that can go down the drain.
Teaching is one of the oldest professions. Years upon years, it has withstood time, definitely.
More so, other available options will be expensive—or let me say, costly. The cost of powering a machine will be higher. Moreover, there will be a need for human supervision.
Yes, AI can definitely take over some core tasks, but not without the influence of a teacher.
Recently, a lecturer said to me that he input the symptoms of malaria into an AI to determine the disease; however, AI’s options were far more than usual.
Though the doctor later performed a series of tests before affirming. This shows that AI cannot replace a teacher.
Right now, I am being underpaid as a teacher. Living expenses are becoming unbearable every day, day by day. And AI is taking over the little jobs where there is no electricity—where the assurance of its stability and availability is not even up to 10 percent, even in the next ten years.
Recently, teachers have been kidnapped, and some murdered in cold blood in the dens of kidnappers. In fact, nothing is really working.
Fights here and there. In the next ten years (2036), even AI cannot be fully integrated with Nigeria's current trajectory.
Teaching will definitely still be active in the next ten years, and with AI emerging, it might be a substitute for transportation and some manufacturing, but teaching will stay.
