Estoy emocionada porque voy a ponerme al frente de un micrófono para hablar sobre Ecency. Por ahora es una idea experimental, para ir detectando necesidades y resolver las lógicas dudas que nos entran cuando comenzamos a utilizar una plataforma que no conocemos.
Mi tareas de hoy se van a dirigir a preparar el anuncio del evento, que lo haré en una publicación aparte de esta, y a perfilar los contenidos que quiero incluir en la primera sesión. La docencia se me da bien, en mi última experiencia con el grupo de Hive Cuba recordé lo mucho que disfruto cuando enseño a otras personas sobre algo que domino.
Además, servirá para ir creando poco a poco un recopilatorio de la información sobre el uso de Ecency en español. No hay muchos recursos en mi idioma y, los que hay, están esparcidos por unas cuentas y otras. Yo misma me he liado cuando he necesitado buscar una fuente para proporcionar ayuda a alguien. Me parece una forma de optimizar el esfuerzo y hacerlo útil para el futuro.

Mi reflexión
La verdad es que no sé descansar sin estudiar. Al menos en el sentido al que se refiere Séneca, que es el de aprovechar el tiempo de descanso para ejercitar la mente y enriquecerla con nuevas ideas, pensamientos y aprendizajes.
Desde que mi memoria recuerda mi ocio principal ha sido la lectura. Salvo la época adolescente, que como es natural, mi grupo de amigos era entonces mi único interés. Pero de niña y luego más tarde siempre me recuerdo con un libro en las manos. Otro aspecto que me llena es pasar tiempo cerca de la naturaleza, aunque tenga que ser urbana. He dedicado horas a observar pájaros, hormigas o el discurrir del agua de un río.
Es cierto que no he realizado grandes esfuerzos físicos en mi vida laboral. Mis trabajos han consistido en tareas intelectuales y de gestión, por lo que mis vacaciones, en realidad, eran para mi cerebro más que para mi cuerpo. Por eso quizás la sentencia de Séneca no me aplica tanto, pues él se refería a esa necesidad de cultivar nuestras dos versiones. En mi caso debo poner mi atención en el ejercicio físico, motivo por el cual procuro salir a diario a caminar al menos.
Se me hace difícil comprender a quien su única idea de distracción es tumbarse en un sofá a ver la televisión, sin más aspiración que esperar a que llegue el día de su jubilación para seguir sin hacer nada. Necesito mantener mi cerebro activo, por eso es que disfruto tanto estas sesiones diarias de reflexión y escritura posterior. Sirven para que me sienta libre, como esos pájaros a los que me gusta observar.

My reflection
The truth is that I don't know how to rest without studying. At least in the sense referred to by Seneca, which is to take advantage of rest time to exercise the mind and enrich it with new ideas, thoughts and learning.
For as long as I can remember, my main leisure activity has been reading. Except for my teenage years, when, naturally, my group of friends was my only interest. But as a child and later on I always remember myself with a book in my hands. Another aspect that fulfils me is spending time close to nature, even if it has to be urban. I have spent hours watching birds, ants or the flow of water in a river.
It is true that I have not done much physical exertion in my working life. My jobs have consisted of intellectual and managerial tasks, so my holidays were really for my brain rather than my body. So perhaps Seneca's dictum does not apply to me so much, as he was referring to the need to cultivate both our versions. In my case, I have to focus on physical exercise, which is why I try to at least go for a walk every day.
It is difficult for me to understand someone whose only idea of distraction is to lie on a sofa and watch television, with no other aspiration than to wait for the day of retirement to come and do nothing. I need to keep my brain active, which is why I enjoy these daily sessions of reflection and post-writing so much. They serve to make me feel free, like those birds I like to watch.
