As a coach I find myself always trying to implement the Seek Constructive Feedback technique. What is this thing called constructive feedback? It means that you give feedback to someone and you get feedback. Now there are some things that you have to understand about how people work before you start trying to give them constructive feedback.
The first thing to do is understand that there is a distinction between negative and positive feedback. If you give someone negative feedback they know that they did something wrong and they can try to fix it, whereas if you give them positive feedback they know that they did something right and that you appreciate their effort. Now the only problem with this is that often the right thing to do is to take some kind of action. However, since you are trying to constructively feedback someone and you want to constructivly give them a feedback that will help them do something, then you need to do something in order to constructivly give them a positive feedback. You need to constructivly provide them with something constructive and you need to make sure that you provide them with something constructive so that they will do something in order to make things better for themselves.
So what can you use as feedback when you are trying to constructively give someone constructive feedback? There are many different things to use and many different types of feedback to provide. When you first start looking at providing feedback people will tell you that they are looking for opinions or suggestions and you have to provide them with opinions and suggestions. Well, you have to be careful here. You have to realize that you are not looking for suggestions or opinions and that you are looking for action items. You can't provide feedback like this if you don't know what the action items are.
So, what do you need to look for in order to give someone constructive feedback? The first thing that you need to look for is that you are giving the right statements. You need to understand that you are going to be providing the right statements in order to constructively give the right feedback. What are the right statements?
First off, you need to learn what the right statements are in order to seek constructive feedback. If you really could say some words like, "Your work really tends to have much creativity and it also do seem like you are really able to get right visualization of your work in the good ways that most other individuals can not," then you are off to a good start. This sounds pretty good and it is a good feedback to provide. However, if you were to say something like, "You seem to have a great imagination" you are not off to a good start.
When you are trying to seek constructive feedback from a team member, you need to understand that there are two types of constructive feedback. You can give a suggestion and hope that the person will take it to heart and use it to improve their performance, or you can also offer a suggestion and then wait for action to happen. If the first one does not work, then you can try the second method. It is important to understand that no matter how well a person may be performing, you can always tell if they need some help by looking at their body language and expressions. For instance, if you notice that the other person is fidgeting with their hands and not holding eye contact with anyone, then they may need some help with getting used to being more social. It is all about observation.
Another thing you need to know when you are trying to figure out how do you seek constructive feedback on how do you get better results is that it is important to figure out what the best things are to say when you are trying to get the other person to notice you. Most people want to be noticed, but they do not know how to put themselves in a position where they will be able to notice you. Most people tend to just say, "Hello" and then turn away. If you are able to produce better results this way, then you should keep doing it until other people notice your better nature.
When you are asking how do you get better results by seeking constructive feedback, then you should understand that it is not necessary to give all your time and thoughts about something to someone. In fact, it is better to give the person one point and then ask them what else you should do. Most people would take something away from the experience by not giving you any advice, but rather just telling you to stop doing it. However, if you make the person feel that you are having a difficult time and you have given them suggestions that they can apply, they will be more willing to listen to you and try out what you have to say. The better results you get the more you will need to do this, because it will become an effective feedback mechanism.
