Hello to everyone who is part of Hive, my greetings and respect. This time I want to share a little about what happened in the last 24 hours. The dynamics of this publication will be a bit different from normal, because yesterday was not a normal day. To be honest, everything started with a day that looked wonderful — Wednesday, June 24th.
I started the day with the energy to dedicate myself to washing my clothes, including my work uniforms. There was a "maracucho sun," as we say in Venezuela — the heat index was almost 40 degrees. Even so, there was some cloudiness, so the heat was controlled at times. After it was time to receive the raw materials at the business, I set off on my bicycle and arrived just in time when the guys had also just arrived.
I put the hand cheese in a cool place and joined them to take my place, shelling each cob while we commented on what had happened after each of us arrived from the beach trip. Between laughs and jokes, the hour passed and the grinding process began. We shared the tasks to have everything at 100% when 5:00 PM struck. While I was handling the mill, one of them took out everything to prepare the hot dogs and burgers, including the sauces, while the tables were each placed in their spot. Everything was being connected as usual.
Once all the mixture was ready and portioned, we took it straight to refrigeration. Then what no one expected happened. From one moment to the next, everything began to fall and move under our feet — exactly at 6:04 PM Venezuela time, on Wednesday, June 24th. My colleague and I grabbed my cousin to get her to safety while everyone on the block also went out into the street, making sure no poles or high-tension cables would fall and cause a tragedy.
Almost a minute had passed and the tremors were of a force never seen before by any of us. So much so that the electrical service was immediately cut off and the city was left incommunicado. We informed the guys to go to their homes to be with their families, and I headed to my house because my mother was not feeling well emotionally. It has been 12 hours since that event on Wednesday. The restoration of electrical service is uncertain. In other cities, there are reports of human and material losses.
The images shared are my own. I hope everything is restored soon. With nothing more to add, I thank you for your attention and until a soon opportunity. See you later.
