It's me who needs to be potty trained!! For instance, I've been confining her to a couple of rooms, and I pick her up to take her outside, because she can't get down the steps. So when I introduced her to a new room, I picked her up, walked into the room, put her down, and she did her business right there in front of me expecting praise! It took me a couple times before I got that she associated my picking her up and putting her down in a new place with "time to go!" There have been several lessons like that I have had to learn.

But boy does she make my heart swell. She's soft and sweet and a lovely presence in the house. Even gets along with one of the cats. Today is her first visit to the vet. I hope I have the strength to refuse the umpteen vaccines he'll want to give her. I only want rabies because it's the law, and I don't want to give it to her until legally I have to. Of course he'll insist on lyme, parvo, bordetella and rabies. nuh, unh. Not doing it. My puppy.
