Fabulous! You have nailed this one! I can see the children, the grass, the concerned strangers who couldn't see that your were safer and happier than they would ever be.

I am reading "the heart is a lonely hunter" at present. Your story reminds me very much of what I envision when I am reading about the Kellys, how the children lives, but without any privacy at all.
