It's been over two years since Tropical Cyclone Marcia came to town.

Our poor old mango tree has not set fruit since. The tree is massive and we think it has two cultivars grafted on. Some of the fruit is good to eat and some is very stringy but full of flavour and makes very good chutney.

We do love our tree, it's almost a local icon up here on top of the hill. You can see it from all around town and before Marcia the huge mango tree and the Red Roof of our house made it easy to point out directions to people.

Of course Marcia took that Red Roof and hurt the tree pretty bad. But this year it's got a fine heavy flush of flowers.

So here's hoping, in a few months we might just have Barrow loads of mangos and a glut of chutney and jam and other mango flavoured goodies to share around.

A big thanks to crazybgadventure@crazybgadventure for the inspiration to do a post today, this was almost the first day in over a month I failed to make a post, so thank you my friend.
