Hello there.

We are nearing the rotation of the current reward cards, where the current CL reward cards are no longer going to be purchasable in the glint shop, and they will be replaced with the Rebellion reward cards. The team hasn't released an official post on the new cards that will be available, but instead they partnered with different content creators/ambassadors to reveal the new cards in their respective platforms.

The ambassadors can share theirs in the different platforms, with Twitter, Twitch, and Youtube as the major places to do so. The team has provided a nice infographic to list the ambassadors together with their handles/usernames in the different platforms.

Going to the different content creators and supporting them is one of the big reasons on why the team decided to do the reveals this way. They didn't post a collection of the revealed cards in the discord as well, so if one wants to see the cards, they need to make some effort.

I don't plan on posting all the revealed cards here. I just want to highlight some of the cards I think are interesting or overpowered. Of course, these are just my first impressions. The meta could shift and existing cards can easily come up and counter a lot of these. With that in mind, let's get into it.

When I saw the Mimic ability, I thought it was very powerful already on its own. Being able to get additional abilities is really strong. I was expecting most mimics to have that as their only ability, or maybe a Taunt, since they get a chance of getting an ability when attacked. So can you imagine my shock when I saw this OP mimic monster. Not only does it have two attack types, but it also has the Opportunity ability. They even added a Reflection Shield just for kicks and giggles. Imagine this at the back next to Iziar and facing a team with a gladiator card. Once it gets bloodlust, the battle is pretty much over. But even without bloodlust, being able to be safe in the backline and attacking the low HP targets with 2 attack types is really insane. The mimic ability just pushes it over the top. It reminds me of Captain Fellblade, but while that focuses on damage, this one is more on precision and ramping up with mimic.

A 2 cost 6 damage monster is already really good. But add 5 speed on top of that makes it broken. But maybe it has low HP to make it like a glass cannon. Nope, it also has 5 HP. And to make sure that its attacks aren't rendered useless by armor, it also has Pierce. I guess these are the stats to be expected from monsters with Debilitations. This card is like it has Jacek's buffs built in. Put it next to monsters with Immunity and the Incendiary is pretty much contained. A cheap team option is to place Khazi in the last position, have Mad Ogre Anarchist with immunity next to it, and have Spirit Hoarder to constantly heal Khazi, or maybe Lily. This card is cheap and good, and is a legit win condition.

When I reviewed the upcoming abilities, one of the questions I pondered was the interaction of Execute and Trample. It looks like I will have my answer since Thanalorian Blade has both. If it works as I imagined, where execute can trigger after a trample, then it can clear boards very quickly. With the Stampede ruleset, things can get crazy real fast. I think having just the two abilities together is really good. Giving it Opportunity makes it overpowered since it can immediately trigger the execute on low HP monsters in the backline. Giving it Lookout just because, makes it unreal.

You want to see players rage quit their battles? And by rage quit, I meant press the "Skip to results" button? Because this card can possibly be in the running for the card that forces the most skips. If you see this as your opponent and you don't have a monster with True Strike ability, prepare to see a lot of misses and backfires. This might be the fastest monster we have. Seeing it in Fire makes it even worse. Using it with Jacek and the different Swiftness monsters makes it impossible to hit without True Strike. I can see this being the meta in Fog of war rulesets, as well as in little league rulesets. I'm just hoping that one of the abilities only appears on the max level, because it will be painful if it comes early on.

I don't think all cards have been revealed yet. So there might be more teasers coming soon. For reward cards, a lot of feel really strong, and comparing them to the core Rebellion set, some seem to be even stronger. I can feel a bit of power creep already, especially since a lot of the Rebellion reward cards have abilities that are not in the core set. I am excited to see how much these cards will change the meta. I also can't wait to theorycraft and think of new ways on how these cards can work with my usual teams. The mimic alone already makes it dangerous to use bloodlust monsters all the time. The debilitations seems to have OP stats that can quickly end battles. These new cards and abilities will surely shake things up and keep things fun and fresh. I'm looking forward to it.

That is it for my initial review of the new reward cards that I think are OP. Have you seen the other cards? Which ones are your favorite? Don't hesitate to let me know what you think, and if you have suggestions for improvement.
