Leading from behind, mobilizing the masses and getting their nod and approval to lead them to change is an heckling task but far more rewarding than leading from the top. Leading from the top looks more easier in the sense that you already have the authority to do so and do not need to do much to bother about influencing for a change or better society. All that is required of you is to lead by fiat, orders and authority which your followers have little or no objection to. Objection to your directive or leading will be a sign of insurbordination and rebellion which will be treated as such with fierceness to forestall order and compel loyalty from the led.

Leading from behind onbthe other hand is not so easy. It has to do with your sphere of influence, your charisma, your achievement, your knowledge and level of exposure. Leading people or masses whom you do not have the legal right on to so require that you must stand-up for something and be seen and heard to be so and doing so. Consistent standing up for such a thing couple with a good charisma at galvanizing and mobilizing support of other people to share your view by selling it to them and also winning over those who already shared your view is the beginning of leading from behind - leading the masses.

The masses leader is the true leader. It does not matter what position you occupy or your personal attainment in life and society. People look up to you for advise and recommendation. You shape opinions and influence decisions. You win loyalty without demanding for it, you'll become a voice to the voiceless and a sight to the blind. A teacher to the unlearned and a mentor to many. Pressure to always get better and stay ahead in all matters beacon on you. Always seeing ahead in all things and matter so as not to mislead your sphere of influence.
