Hello, I recently found out about the flower contest that is taking place in this community throughout this month and I thought "why not participate?". So that's what I'll do, this is officially my entry to the Flower contest ☺️
I know that I am competing against very talented people, experts in handicrafts and all kinds of plastic arts and I know that I do not have that talent, so I have to use the only thing I know how to do, IMPROVISE!
The first thing I did was think about the idea that I was going to carry out and I thought that the Hive logo was the best option. Honestly I would like to see this small craft of a large size in one of the next Meet Up. What do you think? 🤔
I started by drawing the Hive logo, using a ruler and a pencil I was drawing lines on a 15 cm x 15 cm piece of sheet. Leaving a margin of 2 centimeters on each side.
At first it seemed like they were just meaningless lines, although once cut it started to show that I'm not that crazy after all 😂
The next step was to paste everything on all paper and start to form the pieces in cardboard. That is, the idea is to make some boxes where we can later put the flowers that we will make.
This is an idea that you can use not only for logos, it also works very well for letters and numbers. Ideal for decorating birthday parties.
In order not to tell you a long story, in the end I had to paint the boxes and later I glued them on a wooden board covered with black paper on top.
I don't really think there's anything interesting in that, so I decided to skip those processes for the post. (It's not that I forgot to record it.. 😂)
Now the moment really came where my frustration reached the limit, to make the flowers...
My problem was not making the flowers, since it is quite repetitive and easy work. What was most difficult for me was working with silicone, whether it was hot or cold, I always have a hard time handling it, I end up with my fingers stuck and burned 😭
Despite my current hatred for silicone, I managed to make a flower. I only needed about 899 more 😂
And yes, I made many and many colors. At this moment I have an internal debate, where I debate whether or not I should have bought artificial flowers in the store, although that would be the easy way, we better put some effort and work a little.
The best part of this whole project was placing the flowers in the box. Seriously, whether artificial, natural or handmade flowers, I would like to see this same project in a larger version. It would be a good background for photographs ☺️
To glue the flowers I used hot silicone and carefully placed each flower inside the boxes that I made previously.
And voila, a very easy project, very beautiful and that can work as a good frame for the background of your videos.
