PRECONCEPTION
Chimamanda puts in almost nine hours daily working in her mum's restaurant. She returns home very tired and continues the next day. She does this without making much out of it. A day came where Chimamanda told her mum she just don't feel like going to the restaurant. Mum looks at her and says "pumpkin, don't worry we will be fine without you. Just relax. Love youuuuu".
Loretta, who assist Chimamanda's mum in the restaurant and spends about seven hours daily thinks or she is made to believe by people that she is working her self out for someone that is not her mum. Loretta was not feeling too strong and told her aunty that she will like to take the day off or she can't undertake certain responsibilities due to her health.
Chimamanda's mum reacts differently; "so you have now grown wings that you want to dictate for me when to go to work or what function should be assigned to you ehn? You that I brought from that remote village and poor family...?
A preconceived thought about a person will most often result in wrong interpretation of his words and actions. It could make you overreact or vice versa depending on what you heard or think about the person.
So, you see, how we process our actions and words before they are spoken and what we make out of what the next person says determines the frequency at which we move from one quarrel to the other.
I'm Jay Sun and I believe we should judge people base on what they have said at a time not all they have said in their lives.
