I have. I just saw my recent post about earning 4 different tokens with one Steem post on PALnet trending page in the #32 position. I didn't selfvote it and so far it has earned 22 PAL, was upvoted by 57 people and received 5 comments.
My achievement is of course nothing spectacular because @theonlyway's post with Pinky and Spiky in Midsummer hillarious comic is at #19 on PALnet trending and earned 39 PAL so far.
Here's the thing: on PALnet I haven't seen any shitposts making to Trending. Maybe some of them make it but they can get easily flagged (people have 1 free downvote on PALnet). Everything is more organic even though you can promote your post by burning some PAL. And posts that are promoted clearly state so.
I think regular authors who post interesting and engaging content have a real shot at doing even better on PALnet's Trending because #1 today (if one doesn't count the post promoted to the top place) has only earned 65 PAL so far. With today's prices that's not very large amount - "only" $8.57 USD.
So here's my biggest takeaway: keep creating engaging original content with the tag "palnet" and I'm sure you will do better than me on PALnet.
And @theonlyway's comic proves that you don't have to write about the platform itself to become well rewarded.
That's good news for authors with various interests.
