I've just wrote my Actifit report for yesterday and noticed a message from organist and composer @michaelcalabris on SoundCloud whose Steem account I created a while ago. I noticed that he only uploaded his profile picture but didn't do anything else, didn't write a post etc. So I asked him if he got stuck and if he needs some help.
@michaelcalabris replied with a detailed message that he is incredibly busy at the moment listing all his in-school and off-school projects to which I wrote the following message:
Thanks Michael! Wow! You really are doing so many things in your day. Which is perfect because you have a lot to report.
I consider Steem not as a burden for which I have to find the time to do but rather an opportunity to monetize the things I'm already doing in my day. With Actifit I can monetize my physical activities and walking, with creativecoin I can monetize my drawings and organ playing activities, with SteemLeo I can monetize my investing activities, with PALnet and neoxian I can monetize just about everything and so on. There are different communities on Steem which allow me to earn their tokens in addition to Steem automatically when I use their tags.
It is true that active people have less and less time in their days and steeming might seem like one more plate to juggle in their already full hands. But what if you could monetize the things that you are already doing on Steem? Of course, you would need to squeeze some time to create a post or few about them.
Great things require great sacrifice. But even a little bit of sacrifice will get you some positive results here on Steem.
In @michaelcalabris case I see one of the most common challenges that newbies have to overcome. Sort of Catch 22 - in order to have the motivation to succeed on Steem you have to do some research into how the platform works, what are the multiple opportunities which are popping up every week here. But to do this, you have to have the motivation to succeed.
Is it worth it?
Everyone of us has to answer this question for themselves.
