Yesterday’s Easter was different from last year. We ate special breakfast only together with Aušra. Her parents ate at their place. I hope we all live to celebrate Easter next year too.
I succeeded recording Krebs’ last movement of Sonatina Quarta, uploaded to YouTube and shared with our Patreon supporters. It’s a fun little piece, one page long, fast tempo, in B flat major key. It wasn’t particular difficult to record it because I worked on it step by step, first stopping on every beat and then doubling the stops with every repetition. By the time I reached the last step, I could play it pretty well.
However, I didn’t upload it to Soundrop yet because I wanted to find out what’s causing them to reject most of our tracks. I opened support ticket and hope they will explain the complicated formatting and meta data issues. For classical music it’s so confusing and probably not consistent.
Then we went for a walk in the woods wearing our special black masks. While taking a picture we tried to smile... Not sure if you can see that.
In the afternoon I also recorded Prima part of Introduction from Petite Suite by Denis Bedard. My friend James Flores suggested we collaborate on virtual organ duet. Seconda part enters first so I conducted the empty measure for him.
At the end of the day we watched a short live concert of Andrea Bocelli from Milan on YouTube. It was recorded in an empty cathedral expect for him and accompanying organist. I was surprised the sound quality was quite low and we had to turn the volume up quite a bit. Nevertheless it was fun. The organist imitated the orchestra really well.
