Hie everyone, my first post for this community in this year, hope you started the latter in a promising way and most importantly away from all shorts of viruses.

I came up with the idea I'm about to show you after days of trying various ways to mount my action cam for cycling and motorcycling videos. You can check how my previous attempts went in the videos I've posted over the last days. Off road cycling videos became the most challenging ones and the last acceptable results came by mounting the camera on my helmet. That created another problem which is the fact that you can't see if your camera has tilted and a bicycle helmet is not as steady as the ones for motorcycles. So, I went an extra mile and came up with this:

What you see above is a retired airbag cupid for motorcycle use. I bought it many years ago and was using on a daily basis but it was much hotter in summer than I expected so I gave up on it and disassembled it (took the CO2 can, pipes and airbag out). The cupid itself was really good quality with lots of pockets so I never felt like getting rid off it. Turns out this was a good choice cause now it can host my action cam. Have you already noticed where? Yep right here:

This section of the cupid is where the CO2 can used to be. The only thing I had to do was drill a whole for the lens. The whole pocket closes with a zipper that I can leave partially open to control the cam though I can press its buttons even when it's fully closed. The pocket's inside was like made for that reason. Have a look:

The mesh has the exact width that fits the cam keeping it in place. A very welcome bonus is that the pocket almost eliminates the wind noise making the audio of the videos from almost always unusable to always usable (at least with the help of a sponge I have DIY attached to the camera's built in mic). You will be able to see my first tests with this set up in a video I will upload very soon. I'm satisfied as the whole thing works better than a chest mount I was about to try plus that you can leave the cupid semi unzipped during hot days - more pleasant than having a chest mount tied up on you all the time. And it's way more waterproof like this. Offers a great point of view on cycling videos but might be a bit low for the ones on a motorbike - will test this too soon and share the results if they are decent.

Have a great DIYing year everyone!
