You could make okonomyaki pretty easily without going to a Japanese store for sure! My mom definitely didn't have access to one while I was growing up. You do have to make substitutions though! Have fun

There's quite a few festivals throughout the year in Nara that feature flames at night. This is the only one I've managed to go to but I hope to see more sometime!
