Located between the city of Porto and the unique landscapes of the Demarcated Douro Wine Region or Trás-os-Monte, Amarante proved to be a setting of singular beauty, where green spaces multiply throughout the city. Between intermittent drizzle and brief clear skies, we had the privilege of exploring the charms of this city.
Along the banks of the Tâmega River, riverside gardens offer stunning panoramas, with their leafy trees combined with the reflection of fleeting clouds mirrored in the calm waters of the river.
Localizada entre a cidade do Porto e as paisagens singulares da Região Demarcada do Douro Vinhateiro ou de Trás-os-Monte, Amarante revelou ser um cenário de beleza singular, onde os espaços verdes se multiplicam por toda a cidade. Entre chuviscos intermitentes e breves abertas no céu, tivemos o privilégio de percorrer os encantos desta cidade.
Ao longo das margens do Rio Tâmega, os jardins ribeirinhos oferecem panoramas deslumbrantes, com as suas árvores frondosas em conjunto com o reflexo das nuvens fugazes espelhado nas águas calmas do rio.
The little houses built on these banks are lucky enough to be able to enjoy this calm, the sound of the river and all the surrounding nature. In the warmer months this silence turns into laughter and splashes from those who venture out to swim in the Tâmega.
This city is a place of gastronomic excellence, with convent-inspired delicacies and sweets, in addition to having a rich historical heritage and being embraced by the majestic river that dominates the landscape.
As casinhas construidas nestas margens tem a sorte de poder disfrutar desta calmaria, do som do rio e de toda a natureza circundante. Nos meses mais quentes este silencio transforma-se em gargalhas e splashs de quem se aventura a banhos no Tâmega.
Esta cidade é um lugar de excelência gastronómica, com iguarias e doces de inspiração conventual, além de possuir um rico património histórico e ser abraçada pelo majestoso rio que domina a paisagem.
We cannot forget its museums, such as that of Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, an illustrious son of the land, its river beaches and mountains such as Marão or Aboboreira, which are nearby. Added to this is the fact that Amarante is inhabited by friendly and hospitable people.So if you have the opportunity, come, calmly and willing to get to know this city that has so much to offer us.
Não podemos esquecer dos seus museus, como o de Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, filho ilustre da terra, das suas praias fluviais e das serras como o Marão ou a Aboboreira, que se encontram nas proximidades. Acrescenta-se a isso o facto de Amarante ser habitada por pessoas afáveis e hospitaleiras. Por isso se tiverem oportunidade venha, com calma e vontade de conhecer esta cidade que tanto tem para nos oferecer.
