My take on Steem.io

Yesterday @steemitblog announced the launch of the new steem.io website.

The site is an improved version of the old one:

• It highlights the soon to be launched Smart Media Tokens protocol.
• What steemit calls "Proof of Brain" algorithm.
• The superior blockchain design that allows steem to already process more transactions than Bitcoin or Ethereum (with orders of magnitud more speed and without fees).
• It makes the distinction between steem and the first app built on it (steemit)...among other things.

The site looks very professional and the changes were long overdue.

However, in my opinion there is a glearing omission...there is no mention of all the applications that have been built on top of steem (the blockchain)

No mention of Busy.org, Chainbb, Utopian.io, Zappl, etc...not even a pointer to steem tools. The site should be a representation of the whole ecosystem.

When you visit a site for other cryptos you can find links to various wallet providers, merchants that accept the coins...among other things.

Hopefully this change will be made soon.
