Salt marshes are superheroes. Our coastal wetlands store flood water, absorb carbon dioxide and filter pollutants.
Another interesting article about the benefits of salt water marshes. I know the same can be said for brackish marshes as well, which is what Louisiana has so much of, or at least had so much of at one time. Hopefully coastal restoration projects can bring back some of what has been lost, and we'll see the above benefits once again.....
