The plan itself includes money for more than a dozen projects across Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes, including $103 million to rebuild three barrier islands and $5.6 million to improve the Larose to Golden Meadow levee system.
Interesting article about the State of Louisiana's coastal restoration spending plan and what the locals think of it. Wow, $100 million seems like a lot to build back barrier islands that are going to start eroding away as soon as there are built. Fresh water diversions seems like a lot better way to go, let nature do the work all day, everyday.....
