So sorry I had to sign off last night and miss continuing a near "live" conversation. I couldn't continue, my eyes were burning and that makes reading impossible and rest the only remedy at hand.

Ok, the Bose has 4 cables coming in; that means left in, right in, other speaker out and Power. The ADL is a pass-through for the Bosies.

Step 1 as described with headphones plugged in the ADL.

((Ignore!)The ADL is a USB fed DAC (digital to analog converter) and shouldn't distort (theoretically, until you add different engineering disciplines and all bets are off) at any PC setting. I looked up the specs and it does have phono input for record player if you are ever so inclined, but something tells me you're not).

Step 2 as step 1, but with the headphones plugged into the Bose and level PC kept at finding step 1.

((Ignore!!)The connection between the ADL and the Bose is a L/R RCA tulip plug. Typically they are line level connections and though there are 2 signal levels in use, neither are strong enough to power speakers)

Nice to know I put a few smiles on your face and have the favor returned by you.

I just watched a copy of Terry Wogan's Blankety Blank, and I am again confronted with the difference between american and british. Supposedly the same language, but they have a character all their own. Much of it translates but much of it won't.
