This dog loves fruit!! He'd do anything to get a piece of apple, a strawberry or a slice of watermelon.
I planted a bunch of strawberries in pots when we lived in our sticks and bricks (regular house for those unaware of RVer lingo). For several months I've been waiting to taste the berries, but for some reason as soon as they start blushing they'd disappear.. I couldn't figure out what was the deal.
Turns out Rico had been helping with the harvest. One morning I came out on our deck to watch our dogs play on the back yard. I saw Rico just snooping around my strawberry pots... He'd stick his nose in one, then in another checking them out. Then he'd carefully snap the ripen berry off the stem and it was gone forever....
He loves sliced fruit of any kind. The only fruit he doesn't get is grapes - dogs cannot digest them so it is advised to avoid feeding grapes (or raisins) to canines.
When I set a plate with fresh fruit on a table Rico just sits and eyes it. Probably hoping it starts moving his direction.
