Good news for Facebook advertisers in the cryptocurrency market; my friends from hardforking.com just informed me that Facebook is reversing its ban on cryptocurrency and Bitcoin ads to a large part. Facebook had all cryptocurrency related ads banned on Facebook and on Instagram in the beginning of 2018, around the time when bitcoin suddenly lost about 60% of it’s value.
According to Facebook, the measure was implemented “to prevent people from promoting financial products and services frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices.” In short Facebook wants to protect their users from getting scammed and loose their money ...and possibly come after Facebook for allowing scams to take place on their sites and even profit from it.
