“Marry Me” is a 2022 movie starring the likes of superstar, Jenifer Lopez, aka JLO, Owen Wilson, Maluma, amongst others. In the movie, JLO played the role of Katherine Valdez- a big-time artist who was in love with a fellow musician named Bastian(Colombian singer named Maluma).
They made several songs together but there was one that stood out, ‘Marry me”. The plan was to get married to the “Marry me” song before a large crowd of fans. The wedding was in fact the talk of the entire city.
However, fate would have other plans, just seconds before she was to get married to the love of her life, video evidence of her supposed fiance cheating on her with her assistant went viral. As expected, things take a complete turn.
No one would expect what happened next, Kat locked eyes with a complete stranger, Charlie(real name-Owen Wilson) in the crowd and ask that he marry her right there and then. Everyone thought she was crazy. Heck, so did I. Trust me, I never saw that twist coming.
The media made a complete mess of her situation. Even her employees thought she was crazy because the man she had chosen was the complete opposite of the very handsome, hot, and sexy Bastian. This man, a single father of one, a math teacher, looked ordinary and boring. Even the media couldn’t make sense of it.
For me, it was enjoyable from the very first scene, I was impressed by the acts, the storyline. I got to laugh a whole lot because Owen Wilson was effortlessly funny. Trust me, women like men who make them laugh.
The part where Kat had a meltdown on stage because of her fiance’s betrayal made me feel terrible. I mean, some men just always find ways to ruin beautiful relationships. Sad stuff.
Owen Wilson started off as a boring math teacher, but as time went on, he got more interesting. I must confess, I sort of knew that they would end up together, most love movies get predictable with time. But it was a good story. In all, the movie is a good one.
I learned that money and fame cannot always buy true love.
I recommend this movie to families, friends, teenagers, lovers, and everyone else.
If you are a love-crazed person like me, then this is definitely your movie. If you are looking for a good laugh, you’re welcome. Plus, you can all thank me later.
