As time goes on, my work as a supervisor on site becomes much harder and i face more challenges every day. i have been an intern student for a contracting firm over 4 months now and i have been appointed to be the supervisor of a construction site where a pile foundation is been constructed.
We are in the rainy season and due to that pile construction will be tougher due to heavy rainfall while using machinery that should not be under the rain. the place i am actually working has a higher water level and just a little depth excavation, we will start to see water.
Today's challenges were quite different because we actually faced two difficulties which has not happened since the day we resumed on the construction site. we had an excess mud situation and also we found out there was pile of reinforced down the ground we needed to excavate.
The mud was getting too much due to continuous rainfall but we have to be on schedule, so we have to keep on working. the image above shows exactly what we encountered today.
Also, the tyre of our drilling machine bursted because we are moving it in a place that is covered with mud and we are not seeing what was on the ground and we couldn't find what punctured the tyre.
The image above showed the second challenge we had on site today. we found an unknown reinforced slab underneath the ground and we had no explanation for how it got there. excavating this part will take time and cost us unnecessary money and it might also damage our machine which will also cost us another money to repair.
We had no idea on what to do, so we had to put a temporary stop to our activities until our boss decided on what we should do.
