Hello friends, hope you are feeling as blessed as I feel today? Even if I have not gotten the money to celebrate Christmas just yet, I am very relaxed that everything will work out fine. As usual, I am going to give you interesting updates and information about what is going on in the business world within my own little space of running a growing business.

Business has taught me not to be a friend to anyone and also not to be an enemy to anyone, I am a very jovial person and it is very easy for me to make friends which of course is supposed to be a good thing but experience has taught me to simply keep customers as customers. Keeping customers as customers will guarantee a better relationship than having them as friends and then ruining everything completely.

Learn from my story.

I had a young lady walk through my office door one day and I attended to her just like I would attend to every other customer who walks through the door, she liked my personality and she continued visiting every other day, she also started discussing personal issues with me and wanted me to give her advice on what to do and then the friendship started from there, she was cool to be with but I did not like the fact that she was always coming to have series of discussion with me when I should be trying to get more productive

She is a person who likes to talk and every time she comes around, I had to delay my work in order to give her the desired attention, there was a time I tried to make her understand that I had so much to do but she felt very insulted and refuse to visit for a week which means I was losing a customer. I tried to get across to her and I apologized, although she was wasting my time, she also was buying little things and adding to the cash flow of the business.

On a normal day, I do not give out any product without payment and when my customer who was fast becoming a friend told me that she needed an item but could not afford the payment at that instant, I felt the urge to break the rules and keep a customer and friend so I gave her the product with the promise of coming to pay the money the following day. I was surprised not to see her all through the week so I tried to get in touch with her, but she started to ignore my calls and I have not seen her up until the time of writing this post.

I am glad that the money is something I can conveniently replace from my other source of income, but if only I had kept the space and made her remain as a customer instead of a friend, I will not fall into the trap of losing the cash and the friend too.
