This granite slab shows a plan of a fortress with bastions. It is placed near the Spes (Hope) fortification/ bastion. It was built in the 17th century by the project of the Swedish statesman and military engineer (a wonderful combination!) Erik Dahlberg. This fortification faces the Russian Ivangorod Fortress.
