I wouldn't say it's useless... I only have to look at the long list showing me his spam is hidden, I don't have to see the actual, entire rant. I think on some front ends, his low reputation would prevent me from seeing him at all, but I don't enjoy that 'feature'.

You can't stop spam on such a truly free speech platform, but I find the DV one of the best possible utilities for limiting it. Of course, I also see that plenty of HiveWatchers are basically spamming with their downvotes, proving that they can be abused just as easily as upvotes.

Most of the people here that I see raging against DVs should be getting them, regularly. They think that they deserve everyone's attention, and they're happy to bask in negative attention. The ones that really think it's a bad idea move to Blurt.
