Is new always better? I know when it comes to furniture I would much rather take an old classic piece over some cheap Ikea junk, but that's just my personal preference of course.
Kind of like that song by Mickey Lamantia...
I guess I just kind of like the old stuff, especially in a world of cheap imports and flimsy plastic parts!
Since I am going to be building a new house, I will need to purchase a stove. So my dilemma at hand is do I purchase the latest and greatest oven from Whirlpool or should I go for a fully renovated classic oven?
I took a several hour road trip to Charlottesville Virginia to meet a fellow that fully renovates classic, iconic electric stoves. He replaces all such items as insulation, bulbs, wires, gaskets etc. Hence they sadly cost more than new ovens, but they sure look cool!
There are two models to choose from. First up is a Kalamazoo for $1,700…
Or a General Electric model for $2,300…
Both date from the mid 1950s, so let me know what your choice would be 😃
